GARY KEITH JOHNSON-LIVE WITH THE LOHDEN BOYS-BEIER SNARE DRUMS....

Gary Keith Johnson is someone who really amazes me in this industry, and he is back out live with the Lohden Boys this Summer.

He currently has, (and him and I joke back and forth that we have to double-check the exact number), 9 drums from here that he has used live, or in his home practice studio. One of the drums is a #1 of the 1.5 Steel–7.5 x 12 that has been his main on many occasions, and it truly is utterly amazing the sounds that he has gotten out of that drum. The fact that it is a 7.5 x 12 and he is using it as his main, is one aspect. But the depth and tone that he has gotten out of that drum has truly been remarkable, not only to band members, but to FOH engineers, and to other drummers. That shell was a drum that came about by accident here, it was intended to be a 7.5 x 14, and I made the shell too small. There were two of them, and the second one is owned by industry great Jarred Pope (Tom Keifer, Damon Johnson, Gene Simmons).

Gary's depth of knowledge with the history of drums, different brands, technical aspects, parts and accessories, recording gear, and live experience with gear is  truly remarkable, and is almost unparalleled in my experience. I've encouraged him to start a website with a discussion based forum,  and I truly hope that comes about someday soon. His knowledge is rooted in direct experience, and a resource like that would be incredibly valuable, and hugely popular in the industry.

He is also a US representative for Canopus Drums, and they are one of the great drum companies of the world. They have a very unique and sincere approach to manufacturing drums. They are made for a Musical purpose and a specific intention, and that is what it truly should be about.

Great touching base with you the other day my friend. Wishing you the best with your health struggles right now, and will follow up with you and how are you are doing. The band is back out live, and you are where you belong…Behind Your Kits. This industry is roaring back, and will be bigger than ever. I will look forward to your Musical adventures as always buddy……

JIM THIEDE-LIVE ON THE 2022 BERNADETTE KATHYRN & THE LONELY DAYS BAND TOUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 15, 6.5 X 14 & 5.5 X 12......

Bernadette  Kathyrn & The Lonely Days Band are continuing on a string of dates on her 2022 tour this Summer. I have been following the tour, and this band is, like so many, back at it full swing.  This always makes me incredibly happy to see. It Is Time!

Jim Thiede is arguably one of my best buddies who I have never met.  We have spoken numerous times on the phone, and I have followed his Musical adventures with my drums for a number of years now. He is one of the most supportive, enthusiastic, and absolutely die-hard musicians that I know.

He currently has out all of his drums from here, and he switches off between his 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14 and his 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 15 as his main, and he always has along his David Northrup inspired 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 12 as his auxiliary. He is great at posting clips of shows, and  I have so enjoyed watching many of them. I am always hoping this band will roll through my area or the Chicago area. I truly think it will happen soon the way this band is on the move, and I will really look forward to that big time.

Thank You Jim For Everything over the years. I will look forward to talking to you soon. And as always, Chicago and dinner with our ladies is on the radar for sure!  Talk to you soon buddy……

NICK FORCHIONE-LIVE ON TOUR WITH BLUES LEGEND CARVIN JONES-2022 TOUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--4 X 15......

Long-time pal and industry great, Nick Forchione (Carvin Jones, Peach Pickers, Bayou Bandits, Cranberry Suite, Rex Carroll-Fierce Heart) is currently on tour with The King Of The Strings…Blues Legend…Carvin Jones.

I've been watching clips of this band on this tour, and I cannot take my ears off these performances. Absolutely and utterly amazing. Carvin responded to me and said he was working on dates in Milwaukee in Chicago for 2023, and I certainly hope that happens. I simply have to see this band.

Nick has two drums from here-1.5 Steel–5.5 x 14 & a 4 x 15. He has always been such a huge supporter, and a great friend. He is involved with numerous projects, and I had the privilege of seeing him live with the Peach Pickers on Luke Bryan's Farm Tour which I will never forget. He currently has his 1.5 Steel–4 x 15 out with him on this tour. There is also a new record about to be released from Cranberry Suit he did with that drum. I have been looking forward to this record for quite some time, and cannot wait to check in with it.

Thank You Again my friend! You all have a great time out there, and I truly hope to see you soon…..!

MAT DONALDSON LIVE-WESTON HORN AND THE HUSH-SUMMER 2022-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--8 X 14.........

Mat Donaldson has been out live with Weston Horn & The Hush this Summer, and to have this band back out live in front of people is not only awesome, it is important musically that they be seen and heard. I've listened to and have seen hundreds and hundreds of bands over the last decade, and this band is simply one of the most unique, and one of the most talented bands of their type I have Ever listened to, and watched on video. I still am holding out hope I will see them live someday.

I've had the longtime honor of Mat using his 1.5 Steel–8 x 14 as his main for this band live, and for their two incredible studio releases. He is also the owner of Drum World Tulsa, and has decades of knowledge about the drum business, and about drums. For him to choose my snare drum live as a main….Has always just been an incredible source of inspiration and pride here.

Congratulations to Weston Horn & The Hush on being live again. Thank you Mat Donaldson for everything over the years. I will continue to follow the band….Always!

FRANK VILARDI-LIVE ON THE BACON BROTHERS OUT OF MEMORY TOUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14....

Frank Vilardi (Bacon Brothers, Jewel, Donny Osmond) is back out on the road with the Bacon Brothers on their 2022 Out Of Memory Tour. I have been waiting for this tour to start, and it is so awesome to see this amazing and talented band back out on the road.

Frank has been a long time supporter of Beier Drums, and has used them exclusively live and in the studio for the past decade. I contacted him many years ago when I started out, and he was so nice, so gracious, and was so willing to check out the drums. It was a great time, and I will never forget that show in Arlington Heights, IL., at The Metropolis. We have been friends ever since, and we have always stayed in touch. I have absolutely loved seeing this band live, many great times to remember, and have also had the huge honor of him using the drums on their studio albums and singles.

This tour he selected his 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14 which he has used often as his main live. Frank also has a 1.5 Steel 5.5 x 14, &  4 x 15, and an early 2mm Brass– 6 x 14.

I'm really looking forward to seeing you Frank, and so is Elizabeth. We have a lot to catch up on my friend! Thank You for your continued support and your friendship. I know you guys are having a great time out there. Hope to  see you soon....
