DAVID NORTHRUP-LIVE ON TOUR-THE OAK RIDGE BOYS CHRISTMAS TOUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14~

I had the amazing opportunity to get together with Nashville legend David Northrup when The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Tour rolled through this last weekend. It was their 40th Anniversary. To sum it up: It was a dazzling display of professionalism and talent. There is a reason they are on their fourth decade of live performance, and quite literally, their third generation of fans.

David has used my 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 on the track "My Guns" with Mike McCarroll (link below), and most recently on a Contemporary Christian track for a record which will be out any time now. He used his new 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 for the first part of this show, and it went spectacularly well. According to him...Even the Sound Engineer absolutely loved the drum. This type of feedback is always wonderful to hear here, especially coming from a player of this caliber. His touring/recording credits are incredibly extensive & include, to name a few...Travis Tritt, John Waite, Wynonna, John Mellencamp, Tanya Tucker, Pam Tillis, Joe Diffie, and on it goes. He was also voted the #2 Country Drummer in the Modern Drummer Readers Poll in 2009, and #2 Clinician in 2010. He will be using his new 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 on tour with The Oak Ridge Boys for the 2015.  Live clips of this show will be posted in the next couple of weeks, and will update this post. I told him several times, but will say it again here: Thank You David Northrup....I appreciate your time and interest in Beier Drums.....

ACHIM FAERBER-ACOUSTIC TOUR-PETER HEPPNER-UPDATE & VIDEO~

Achim Faerber (Eisbrecher, Project Pitchfork, Prag, Automat) recently completed a very successful & mostly sold-out acoustic tour with Peter Heppner in Germany. It was so well received...It will be continued in September 2015. Achim told me it was a very interesting experience for him using only mallets, brushes & shakers for the entire tour. He did not use any sticks. Quite a diversion from his heavy hitting duties for Eisbrecher & Project Pitchfork. He also used the Beier 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 for all of the shows as he does in Project Pitchfork, Prag & Automat. Link below for an excellent clip from the tour. Regarding the photo he sent below...:

"A small shaker in the right hand, left hand just slaps the 5.5 x 14 steel snare, and the only bass you hear in the room is my 14 x 26 Broadcaster Bass Drum from 1937.  Love it..."
