HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM BEIER DRUMS!

BROTHER CANE-TOM KEIFER-WINGER LIVE-NEW SINGLE FROM BOTHER CANE-JARRED POPE-ROD MORGENSTEIN-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--4 X 15 & 5.5 X 14....

This last year has been quite a year. There were numerous shows, and the introduction of the Anniversary Drum was a lot of fun for me.  I am very much looking forward to the next run of the Anniversary Drum this spring. Part of that staying in touch is attending shows, and there were two with my pal Jarred Pope that were absolutely spectacular. It was also incredible to see Rod Morganstein again at one. It has been years since I have seen him.

Jarred was using his 1.5 Steel–4 x 15 for the Tom Keifer 2023 Tour. That has been his long time main for the band live, and in the studio. He has also used his 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 14 for studio work with Tom, and live as well. But almost exclusively, he has used the 1.5 Steel–4 x 15 live for all of the tours with the Tom Keifer Band. They have always been one of my favorite bands, and every single person in that band is Musically spectacular. It was a great tour with Tom Keifer, Winger & John Corabi…

Elizabeth and I were able to see Brother Cane live in Chicago, and they completely and absolutely stole the show. Music is not a competition, but this band is so great, they lit the night up. It was inevitable. Jarred had along his 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 14 which is a drum that he uses with this band, and Damon Johnson & The Get Ready…Another one of my favorites. Anything Damon Johnson puts together Musically, lights up the venue. There is just something about the way he goes about his Music, and the bands he puts together, that is almost unequaled from my extensive experience in live production. The bands latest two song release Blinded By The Sun/Are You In There Anymore is rockin from A-Z.

Rod Morgenstein is a beloved legend in this industry, and it was so nice to see him again. We had the greatest talk…It has been a number of years since I have seen him. He has along his 1.5 Steel–5.5 x 14 as a back-up, and I was thrilled about the fact he would refer back to that drum. Winger is so great live, it is one of those bands you wish everyone could see. Unreal. UNREAL!

Thank You Jarred for everything my friend, and Thank You Rod. This show will always remain unforgettable……

ACCEPT-DECADE OF DEFIANCE RELEASE-CHRISTOPHER WILLIAMS-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14-TOO MEAN TO DIE

Accept recently released a box set-A Decade Of Defiance.  I was so happy to see this from this amazing band. It included 2021's Too Mean To Die. Christopher Williams is simply one of the greatest Metal drummers I've ever seen, and in Music. He used his Beier 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14 on this record on select songs, and it is something that is so valued here, like all records. Christopher also has #2 of the 1.5 Steel–4 x 15 in Black Nickel.

Thank You Again Christopher for all of your support and friendship over the years. I am so hoping to see you sometime in 2024. Merry Christmas to you and your family my friend.. ..!

LYNYRD SKYNYRD LEGEND ARTIMUS PYLE-DOLLY PARTON'S ROCKSTAR RELEASE-ANTHEMS-HONORING THE MUSIC OF LYNYRD SKYNYRD RELEASE-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14.......

Recorded material has always been particularly meaningful to me. When a drummer selects your drum for a record, that is one of the highest compliments that can be paid to a drum maker. Lynyrd Skynyrd legend Artimus Pyle has used his Beier 1.5 Steel–6.5 x 14 for many years as his go-to main for live performance, and in the studio. He recently chose that drum yet again for several records which I am thrilled about. I was introduced to him by my buddy, and one of the greatest Southern Rock drummers of all-time-Monte Yoho. He is one of the founding members of one of the greatest Southern Rock bands of all time…The Outlaws.

Dolly Parton’s Rockstar was released recently to critical acclaim. Artimus did his always masterful job on Freebird, and I was so over the top to hear about this. Anthems-Honoring The Music Of Lynyrd Skynyrd, will be released this February. It is a star-studded record with numerous Musical guests, and no doubt it will be incredible.

Thank You Again Artimus Pyle for everything over the years. Your work continues, and it is as amazing as it has always been. The Artimus Pyle Band is one of the best bands on the road, and is an unbelievable live experience. To have your work recorded, makes it permanent. Hope to see you soon…..And Thank You Again Monte Yoho…..

KISS END OF THE ROAD TOUR-FINAL SHOW-MADISON SQUARE GARDEN-KISS ARMY-COMMANDER IN CHIEF-BILLY STARKEY....

Kiss ended their incredible 50 year career last weekend in New York at Madison Square Garden. It was only a couple blocks from where they began, and it really was the perfect place for the final live show.

I was a fan as a little kid from the very beginning. The reason for that was my neighbor was Billy Starkey. His brother John Starkey and I and Billy were best friends. I grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana, and that was the birthplace of the biggest fan club in the world-The Kiss Army. Billy Starkey was the Commander In Chief, and Jay Evans was the Field Marshall. Billy’s brother and I were his first recruits and members, and he would go on to recruit his friends at school.

The story of the Kiss Army has been told many times, and Billy really has done a remarkable job for five decades representing the on-going legacy of  it. He was, and is, the perfect person for this. We recently spoke for over 3 hours on the phone, and it was so great to catch up with him. I remember everything from those days, and it is a bit surreal to think how long ago that was.

I can remember playing basketball, and Billy coming out of the house to tell me it was my turn to call the radio station to play Kiss. I remember him showing me the first Kiss poster on the school bus and being dumbstruck. I remember the things Kiss would send to him in the mail, particularly the invitation for New Years Eve at the Excelsior Club in NYC. We were standing at the mailbox, and I was like WOW! I also remember Bill Aucoin had asked him that he wanted him up there with the band at the party when they cut the cake. I remember the first Kiss Army folders with everything in it arriving. I remember Billy getting a stack of posters of Dressed To Kill when it was released. I wish I still had mine! But as a kid…You took things like that everywhere, and they just got wrecked. I remember when they came to Terre Haute and their jet landed an pulled up 25 feet away from us. That day was the Official Beginning Of The Kiss Army. I remember Peter Criss laughing because I was so excited and was jumping up and down and knocking on the limo window. I could not wait for him to get out. I also remember it was absolutely freezing that day, but it didn’t matter. It is a day you remember for your entire life.

The picture of Bill, Jay and myself with that banner have popped up over the years in books, on VH1 when Billy was part of the show, in film clips in live shows, and it always make me smile. I remember when Jay drew the banner, he was a great artist. I saw it for the first time on the basement floor at Billy’s Headquarters for the Kiss Army, which of course was the basement. Lot’s of memories. I had a wonderful childhood growing up in Indiana, and this was part of it.

I will always play Kiss records, how could someone not who is a fan of Rock? I particularly love the first three records. Congratulations to the the band on one of the greatest careers and runs in Music History. Congratulations as well to you Billy on a job so well done…No one could have done it better….
