I recently got to see my old friend live-Andy Parker of UFO. He was in town with Lights Out-The UFO Experience, and these guys are spectacular!
I think it has been right around 4 years since UFO went off the road, but I have always stayed in touch with Andy. It was just so nice to sit down again and spend hours catching up on music, and life in general. He had along his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14, and amazingly where I saw the show, The Arcada, is exactly where I brought it to him many years ago. It was one his long time mains for his US rig, and also in the studio for UFO records. It really brought me back seeing that drum there again with him and thinking about those years.
Along with his kit he brought two items which completely knocked me out. He had along the original gong and cowbell from his kit from Strangers In The Night. I simply could not believe they were really there, and it was an unbelievable thrill to see both of them.
Sorry to miss you next week in Des Plaines my friend...Hoping to see you soon again. Thank You For Everything over the years....
