Rock Legend Andy Parker of UFO was out live with the UFO Tribute-Lights Out in Texas last weekend. This was his second gig with the band, and it was so incredible to see him behind his kit again.
Andy had along his main for his US Kit-His Beier 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. He had one of the first one's I produced many years ago, and it never left his kit in this country. His 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 was his main for his European Kit, his 8 x 14 in later years. He also has one of the few 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 15 drums that were produced in Gloss White. That drum was used on one particular tour of the UK.
I have listened/watched clips of Lights Out, and they are a rocking band, and they do an incredible job. It is not often when you play in a tribute band that one of the original & founding members sits in. What an amazing experience for them, and an honor.
It has been many, many years I have had the privilege of Andy using my drums exclusively. Countless tours, records, seeing them live in this country and abroad, so many great conversations and fun times...It would take quite some time to put it all in print. He will be live with them again in April in Texas, and Elizabeth and I would love to go down for the show. She has been friends with them for many years, is their #1 fan worldwide as stated by the band, and it is also where we met years ago. It would be so wonderful to see our friend again.
Congrats to all of you for having a great time, and putting on an amazing show. So hope to see a show soon.....
Through the years.......
