DREW McKEON-MICHAEL BOLTON TOUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14~
Was great to see this week that Drew McKeon had his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 back out on the road with Michael Bolton, & has had for the last year and a half on their extensive tour. Incredible for me as well, Drew took it to the UK for the leg of the tour last year. That included a performance at Royal Albert Hall. I told you several times Drew...but will say it again...I will always remember that. Looking forward to seeing you soon and getting your feedback on your 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. Thank You Again for everything...

FRANKIE BANALI-UPCOMING SESSION IN HOLLYWOOD-BEIER 1.5 STEEL SNARE--6.5 X 14~
Wanted to take time out for a huge Thank You to Frankie Banali. He chose four drums for his session next week in Hollywood, and one of them was his Beier 1.5 Steel Snare--6.5 x 14. This was a major compliment here, and was very, very much appreciated. Frankie has always been someone who has taken time out for Beier Drums, and I have been really fortunate to see him play live on a number of occasions with different sizes of his 1.5 Steel Series Snares. Video link below is Frankie with his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 from the Bang Your Head Tour last Summer.
Also...One of the industry's most anticipated Rock Documentaries right now is Quiet Riot's: "Well Now Your Here, There's No Way Back." It is coming September 15th to Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, Google Play, and DVD. You can pre-order on iTunes today. Numerous reviews have given the film huge props. The Rolling Stone has said: "Real life Spinal Tap...One of the top rock docs to see this Summer". It was Produced and Directed by Regina Russell, who's talents with film are just simply enormous. A must see.
Thanks Again Frankie...

PAT McDONALD-CHARLIE DANIELS BAND-40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE VOLUNTEER JAM-BRIDGESTONE ARENA-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14 & 6.5 X 14~
Last week saw the 40th Anniversary of the Charlie Daniels Volunteer Jam at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The all-star line-up of performers included in part..The Outlaws, Eric Church, Oak Ridge Boys, Wynonna, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alabama, Blackberry Smoke, etc..,! I really wish I could have attended this. Incredible event, and evening by all accounts.
Pat McDonald, long considered by many to be one of the greatest & most diverse performers in music, had his full rig with him. He was using the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 live, and had his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 as a backup as well. He also takes his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 on the road with him as well. He has mentioned to me on a number of occasions that he takes two snare drums on the road with him...And both are always from Beier Drums. As always Pat...That means a lot to me-Thank You. Links below to a clip from the show, and several of Pat's solo's.
Looking through the list here there were quite a few players that have a 1.5 Steel. Monte Yoho of The Outlaws has used several sizes of the 1.5 Steel for a long time on the road exclusively. These days it is the 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 as his main, and his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 as an auxiliary. David Northrup has a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 that he has used live with the Oak Ridge Boys, and has also used his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 in the studio a great deal. Brit Turner has used his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 live with Blackberry Smoke as well.
Thanks Again Pat....Next year I am attending this event no matter what~

NEW VIDEO CLIPS-MONTE YOHO OF THE OUTLAWS-DANNY THOMPSON-ALAN PARSONS PROJECT LIVE~
Just updating a prior blog on the most recent show with The Outlaws and the Alan Parsons Live Project. Several new video clips are up now from the shows. Got a great web cam view of Monte of almost the entire show with The Outlaws, and added an equally as great clip of Danny Thompson with the Alan Parson Live Project. Monte uses the 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 live exclusively, and a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 as an auxiliary. Danny uses the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. Tx as well Danny for the recent introduction to Tommy Rickard. Look forward to working with him. Links are below for the clips. Thank You both...Look forward to seeing you guys soon...
TOMMY HARDEN IN THE STUDIO WITH DAVID ALLEN COE-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--4 X 15~

STEVEN SWEET-LIVE WITH WARRANT-BEIER 1.5 STEEL SNARE--8 X 15~
Had a great time last week with one of Rocks great players..Steven Sweet of Warrant. Was really happy these guys rolled through here. They have long been one of my favorite bands, and him and the entire band are still at the top of their game live.
Steven has been using a 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 live for some time, and last weeks show was a first time out for him with his 1.5 Steel--8 x 15. The drum is primarily focused on Mids, but also has a great Bottom end as well. Feedback from Steven, the band, and the staff was simply great. It cut through great, and had a solid presence. As always...I have some clips and will be posting them and update this story.
Thanks Again Steven Sweet for taking time out for Beier Drums, and for always being so great to deal with. Michael Foster of Firehouse has said to me several times, and I have to agree...That your one of the coolest and nicest guys in Rock. It really means a ton to me that you take your 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 on the road with you, and hope you find a lot of use for the 8 x 15.
Special Thanks as well to Joey for always going out of your way to see how Beier Drums are doing, and to Mark Trkla & Sidecar for the great hang and conversation....

MICHAEL GRANDO LIVE WITH JOE DIFFIE-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--4 X 15
Perfect timing last week when Joe Diffie rolled through Wisconsin, and I finally got to see this band. Michael Grando has been using his Beier 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 live with the band for over a year. This show was the first time out with his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 in Gloss White. I have some excellent clips from sound check I will be posting on my site, and snippets from the live show with the camera right over Michael's floor tom. Michael is a long running & successful Nashville professional, is an amazingly talented player, and it really is just great to see him using my gear, and truly enjoying it. The entire band is phenomenal as well, and Joe Diffie illustrated once again why he is still one of the great stars to ever come out of Nashville.
I said it in another post and am going to repeat it here. I am lucky enough to go a lot of places, and have so many players take time out to use Beier Drums. This show has to be one of my favorites so far this year though. There just is something about a show in the middle of nowhere in a small town. You drive by cornfields and barns all of the way, you get there and the downtown is 1/4 mile long. The local church is providing the "security". You have just a big open field with a stage, sno-cone machines, beer tents...And then thousands of people all of a sudden show up for the show. Gotta love this type of event...
Thanks Michael Grando for everything. Hope to see all of you very soon...
