Rodney Booth (RSB Percussion, Rydin Durty Band) was out live with the Rydin Durty Band last night at Scooter's Loungs, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. 

He picked up the last of the 1.5 Steel--8 x 14 that I had here to make way for the Anniversary Drum, and the upcoming Special Edition. The players that have this drum have used them for years, and not one of them have stopped using theirs. I stay in close touch with Rodney, and from the initial feedback from him, I am really hoping this drum will be his main permanently.

JAZZ LEGEND RON OTIS-KEM-ARETHA FRANKLIN-EARL KLUGH-SOLO CD STAY IN YOUR LANE-BEIER 1.5 STEEL SERIES....

I recently touched base to follow up up on some records with one of the greatest talents in this industry, a class guy from A-Z, and one of The Definitive Pro's.....Ron Otis (KEM, Aretha Franklin, Earl Klugh). 

I heard from Ron many years ago after he inquired about the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. That drum, along with his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 & 5.5 x 15, were used on numerous records and tours. I have always been so thrilled about that. Any time any Musician selects your instrument for their work....That is the supreme compliment...Without verbalizing it. 

I am a massive KEM fan, and the fact that my drums are on his records will forever be special to me. Another one of the definitive moments through the years for me as well is his solo record: Stay In Your Lane. All records are special, but this one is a big stand out to me. This record is Magical. Every single Musician on this record is incredible, the arrangements/composition are incredible, the Musicianship is beyond belief. I refer back to this record often, and like any Artistic work of this magnitude...There is something new you hear every single time.

JULES RADINO-LIVE WITH BLUE OYSTER CULT & THE JULES RADINO TRIO-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14-BLACK NICKEL....

Industry legend, and long time pal, Jules Radino (Blue Oyster Cult, Jules Radino Trio) recently debuted his new Beier 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14-Black Nickel with his band-The Jules Radino Trio, and with Blue Oyster Cult. 

He was looking for a drum that had a specific combination of attack, volume, and bottom end. I had done a demo at a large venue with him years ago with that size drum. The drum fit perfectly for what he was looking for, and I could not be more thrilled about that.

During that time I did the demo of this size drum with him, the 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 had been one of his mains and continued to be for years. That drum was used in hundreds of live shows, numerous records, and was the main in Blue Oyster Cult's utterly spectacular Audience Music Network live performance of the 40th Anniversary release of Agents Of Fortune. That drum was sadly damaged on the road. The new drum will takes it Musical place.

JIM VOGT-LIVE WITH THE THNEEDS IN ALASKA-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14.....

The Thneeds continue to play the Alaskan circuit live, and long time pal, and one of the first customers I had many years ago, Jim Vogt, continues to use his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 with the band.

It is amazing to think about how long ago that was, and we have always stayed in touch. I have always followed the band, and I had hopes of sometime in my travels to make it to Alaska for a show. I still hope that can happen someday, and someday soon.

Thank You Jim for all of the years. It was so great to touch base recently. Will stay in touch as always.....

Sending out a huge Thank You to Dave Schoepke (Dave Schoepke Music) here today. He recently selected a Beier 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 for for the SunDown 47 show in the US Bank Stadium...Opening for Zach Bryan. 

Dave is a remarkable Musician from A-Z, and it truly amazes me in the vastness of his work. He is a first-call live performer, session player, author, instructor, and engineer, and is widely respected in this industry by literally everyone. His name would come up years ago when I first started, and I am really grateful to have a drum with him that he chooses for selected projects.
