Sending out a huge Congratulations to one of the world's greatest....Todd Sucherman.
His debut solo album, Last Flight Home, was rated as one of the Top 31 Records Of 2020 by Mike Mettler, and was among Audio Ink Radio's Best Albums of 2020. The song "It's Perfection" made the list for one of The Best Songs of 2020.
This is so deserved, and it made me extremely happy to see this. Happy New Year Todd....Great way to end the year. Congratulations!

My Corner Retreat has just released a new single-Barefoot Dancing. It was written by Steve Ritter & Kerry Galarza. Jeremy Schreifels played drums on the record with his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15, and he also did the audio engineering, mixing & mastering at his Empty Page Studios.

MODERN DRUMMER-DECEMBER 2020 ISSUE-EVAN HUTCHINGS....
There is an excellent article by Sayre Berman on Nashville great, Evan Hutchings, in the December 2020 issue of Modern Drummer.
I want to extend a most sincere Thank You to Evan for including his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 in the Gear Section. It was a really nice surprise, and I could not be happier one of my drums is in his studio. That drum he also used on Kelly Torre's release: How We Feel.

CHAD MELCHERT'S ABBIGAIL ROAD DRUM STUDIO......
One of Canada's most recorded & legendary drummers, Chad Melchert (Gord Bamford), just finished his new studio-Abbigail Road Drum Studio.
His body of recorded work is immense, and he is busier than ever then ever these day's doing tracks for Artist's. He also is performing live with Gord Bamford which has been a long running position for him.
Chad currently has a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14, 6.5 x 14 & 4 x 15 that he uses in the studio. I have had the unbelievable good fortune to have him choose one of those drums for dozens of records to date, and all of the drums exclusively for his live performances.
Congratulations Chad....Thank You Again. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas.....

The Artimus Pyle Band is putting on a Virtual New Years Eve 2020 show. The live event is at 10:00 P.M. CST, link below will have all of the info.
Artimus is one of the great legends of Southern Rock, and the band consisting of Brad Durben, Jerry Lyda, Dave Fowler & Scott Raines...Are some of the most experienced, and some of the finest musicians in the country. I have seen this incredible band numerous times, and without fail...They deliver huge. Please see the link below for a video of their live performance as well.
Artimus will have his main of many years with him...1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. The drum has been behind his kit since Day 1 of him receiving it. I met him through another of Southern Rock's most beloved legends...Monte Yoho of The Outlaws. Monte used his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 as his main, and a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 as an auxiliary for years before retiring from the road. They both as well have used their drums on studio releases.

DONN BENNETT DRUM STUDIO-FRANKIE BANALI COLLECTION......BEIER DRUMS UPDATE.....THANK YOU MARK VIERS....
Through Regina Banali...Donn Bennett has put together an incredible sale of drums and cymbals from the late Frankie Banali. The sale started four days ago, as was mentioned here in the Latest News.
Several of the Beier Snare Drums sold immediately, along with a number of other items. Presently there are two Beier Snare Drums left. Please do check out this sale...And please do contact me with any questions you might have. I would be happy to discuss the history of the drum with you. Thank You Mark Viers in Illinois for picking the first one up, and I really am hoping to hear from the second drummer who bought one.

Achim Faerber (Automat, Eisbrecher, Project Pitchfork, Peter Heppner, Prag) is back in the studio in Germany with Automat. This will be the first Automat record he will be using his #1-1.5 Steel--4 x 13. He has used his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 on their entire catalog to date. This is an amazing band, and they have been a big hit since Day 1.

Regina Banali is handling the sale of Frankie Banali's drum gear through Donn Bennett. Donn, in his always-fashion...Has set up an amazing sale with full descriptions, and references.
I have had a number of inquiries already on the snare drums he had from Beier Drums. These drums were used live and in the studio, they did not sit on a shelf. Please do contact me with any questions you have about the drums.

THE STRAY CAT LEE ROCKER TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM-GATHER ROUND-JANUARY 2021-LARRY MITCHELL-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--4 X 15....
Lee Rocker is set to release his new full length album-Gather Round. It will be available on CD & by Streaming on January 22. The album will also be available on Vinyl with a delivery date to be set. The song Dog House Shuffle was released several months ago, and is also included on this album.
Easily one of Rockabilly's finest...Drumming great Larry Mitchell, played on this entire record. He is also the touring drummer for Lee, and has been for years. His technique is flawless, and his relaxed, & almost effortless style, has always been a source of amazement. I was completely thrilled to hear he included his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 on this record, Dog House Shuffle is one of the songs that the drum is on.
Whether it is live, or in the studio...These musicians in this band...Should be seen and heard by everyone. The talent in this band, the sincerity of the music, and the instrumentation, are some of the music worlds finest.
Thank You Larry....I will pick this album up on January 22nd, and am so looking forward to this....

GERMANY LEGEND ACHIM FAERBER-#1-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--4 X 13 & 5.5 X 14.....
Achim Faerber (Automat, Project Pitchfork, Eisbrecher, Prag, Peter Heppner) is a German legend, a great friend, and a long-time supporter of Beier Drums.
He was one of the initial players to pick up a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14, and that drum has been one of his mains for years of shows with Automat, Project Pitchfork, Prag, Peter Heppner, and other live acts. It is also been one of his mains in the studio on numerous records (See Records on this this site). He has remarked to me in the past, and by his comment on this site (Video Section), that he never thought a Steel snare drum would be one of his go-to choices.
Achim also has #1 of the 1.5 Steel--4 x 13, and he has had the drum in near constant use since receiving it. It is truly amazing the sounds he has gotten out of the drum. I have some excellent samples on this site in the Audio Section from him. He recently posted the below comment :
"Jim, Thank You again & again. What an incredible snare drum that is!!! Playing this instrument is just pure joy..."
As I have mentioned to him as well on several occasions, he is The Perfect player to have this drum. There will be several new releases forthcoming that he is using the drum on, and again...I would encourage drummers interested in the sound of this drum to visit the Audio Section of this site. His samples....Are incredible.
