JULES RADINO LIVE WITH BLUE OYSTER CULT IN WISCONSIN-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14.....

This Summer as I have mentioned, has been one of the busiest one's ever for Beier Drums. My production is at an all-time high, and I got to meet many new players who use my gear. I also got to see a lot of of my closest friends who use one or more of my snare drums on the road. One of those bands included one of the greatest guy's I know-Jules Radino of Blue Oyster Cult.

Jules had along his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. That has been his mainstay drum for a number of years now. He also has performed live with BOC, and other acts in the New York area with his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15, and 5.5 x 15. Jules as well was one of the first players to have and use the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15. That drum has gone on to become a hugely popular drum.

The entire BOC staff is the greatest, and they are a band I always look forward to seeing. They are amazing people, and are amazing live. Every time they get up on that stage, it shows why they are one of the most enduring, and most influential bands in Rock history. Foghat opened the show and rocked it, and it was great to see Mark Petrocelli who was out with them as well.

LYNYRD SKYNYRD LEGEND ARTIMUS PYLE AND HIS BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14....

I recently was talking to Artimus Pyle, and it always is really entertaining. He is someone who has always been extremely nice to me, takes time out for everyone, and is just as incredible a player as he was back in the early days of Lynyrd Skynyrd. I got to sit behind him at a show and watch how he plays all of the Skynyrd material technically, and it was incredible. You can see why those songs sound like they do now with the Artimus Pyle Band, and when you hear them from the early years. I met him through another Southern Rock legend, non-stop user of Beier Drums, and all-around great guy & friend....Monte Yoho of The Outlaws.  

Artimus has been using a 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 as his main drum for over 2.5 years now....Since the day he sat down with one. It is his main drum on the road with The Artimus Pyle Band, and in the studio. If you have not seen The Artimus Pyle Band, you are truly missing something. This band is stunning from A-Z, and truly floored me when I first saw them. (Please see the link below for a clip of them live). Jerry Lyda is one of two guitar players for the band, and is also the owner of Music City Asheville and a dealer for Beier Drums. He has sold a number of different sizes, any size can be ordered through him, and am shipping out another 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 mid-month to the store.

TRACY BROUSSARD-CMA FEST-NISSAN STADIUM WITH BLAKE SHELTON-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14....

Tracy Broussard recently appeared with Blake Shelton at CMA Fest in Nissan Stadium, and want to send out a really special Thank You to him for having his main with him: The 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. That drum he has been using non-stop for over a year, and no matter how many times I see him with that drum...It is a huge thrill here at Beier Drums. He also has a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14, and #1 of the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 10.

LARRY MITCHELL LIVE WITH LEE ROCKER-MILWAUKEE...BEIER 1.5 STEEL--4 X 15....

It was month's in the making, but Larry Mitchell was finally in town with Lee Rocker. As a long-time fan of Rockabilly & The Stray Cats...I knew these guy's would be great, and they were.

Larry was using his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 for the show, and has just started with this drum. He is a superbly skilled player, and his technique with this band, and for this type of music...Could not have been better. His interest initially was in the 1.5 Steel--4 x 15, and his instincts proved 100% correct. It fits perfectly with this music, and his style.

Had a great afternoon visiting, talking drums, and taking a side trip to Interstate Music here which he really enjoyed. There are not many stores that have a showroom this size anymore, and Interstate's is one of the best.

VOIGHT MUSIC IN JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN...BEIER 1.5 STEEL--7.5 X 15....MICHAEL GRANDO LIVE WITH JOE DIFFIE...

I got to go to a lot of places this Summer, and it was great to have two places I wanted to be when stopping in Janesville, Wisconsin.

First place was Voight Music. They are a new dealer for Beier Drums, and this store simply has to be seen. I first visited there for a clinic with Todd Sucherman, and everyone I was with was wowed at this place. It is a full-scale music store, and Tony did an incredible job setting this up. They currently have a 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 15 in stock, and the feedback so far have been amazing. Really looking forward to doing more business with them.. 

From there I got to see Michael Grando live with Joe Diffie. Michael has been a friend for some time, and it was so great to see him. This band has always been one of my favorites, and him and the band, as always, delivered big...Despite the almost-torrential downpour! Great seeing you Michael....

JARRED POPE IN THE STUDIO IN NASHVILLE WITH DAMON JOHNSON-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14....

Jarred Pope has recently been in Rock Falcon Studio with Damon Johnson (Black Star Riders, Thin Lizzy, Alice Cooper) working on new material. He had along his new 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 which he has been using a lot, and really likes a great deal. That drum also he noted to me was the drum everyone liked the best in the studio. He also recorded a live album in Birmingham, Alabama with Damon last year with his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. That should be out soon, and I am really looking forward to that. 

Jarred is also the touring drummer for the Tom Keifer Band as well. This is a band that receives incredible reviews, and I am really hoping I get to see them soon. He currently uses the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 with the band on the road.

MIKE COLLINS IN THE STUDIO WITH KEN STRINGFELLOW-NEW SINGLE-ROOFTOP SCREAMERS-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 x 14 & 4 x 15....

It is a good thing that Mike Collins (Metts,Ryan & Collins, Throwback Suburbia, Earl Slick, Dilana) and I talk pretty often. If not...It would be hard to keep track of everything that he is involved with musically.

He has been in the studio recently with Ken Stringfellow (REM, The Posies), and has been playing a variety of live shows. For his live & studio work, his main is, and has been the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 for quite some time. He just recently started using his new 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 as well.

Another one of his projects is the RoofTop Screamers. The latest release from them features Bob Byers on "I Belong". Mike used his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 on this as well. Link below....Great tune!

BOB ML TRESSLER-NEW VIDEOS FROM THE NEW WHISKEY RIVER BAND....BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14...

Bob ML Tressler recently picked up a 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 from Drum Center Of Portsmouth. This Summer his band has had a non-stop run of shows, and for all of the them he has had his new snare from Beier Drums. It is his new go-to, and he just really could not be happier with that drum.

RANDY WALKER & JASON HARTLESS-TED NUGENT ROCKIN AMERICA AGAIN TOUR 2017-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--7.5 X 15....

This Summer brought around a tour that I always enjoy seeing, and with it came along two great friends and drummers-Randy Walker & Jason Hartless.

Ted Nugent hit the road with his Rockin America Again Tour, and as always...The tour went incredibly well. This power-trio is one of Rock's finest...And simply has to be seen. Jason Hartless was behind the kit, and Randy Walker, a highly accomplished drummer/engineer, and owner of Media 22 Productions in Scottsdale was on board as his Tech again. 

I dropped off two special drums that were manufactured here for both of them. They are #1 & #2 of only two that will be made this way of the Beier 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 15. Both were done completely in all Black Nickel hardware, and really turned out incredible. Will be updating this with further news on the drums.

This whole event I was really looking forward to, and it really was a nice surprise to have Troy Luccketta of Tesla pop in for the show as well. Troy is a long time friend, and the whole night was just an unbelievably fun time. It was also nice to finally meet Vic Salazar.
