Recently received a great clip of a live solo by Ron Otis (Earl Klugh, Aretha Franklin, KEM) on his Beier 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. He was performing with Earl Klugh, and he is an absolutely amazing talent. Special Thanks to Terrence Smith for taking this clip. I am out on the road quite a bit, but cannot be everywhere. So when I get a clip like this...I am very appreciative. Ron also appeared recently with KEM on the Steve Harvey Show. Link below to the performance on the show, and to You Tube for the solo clip. ANN BOLEYN'S HELLION IN CHICAGO-SIMON WRIGHT ON DRUMS...
I had the incredible opportunity to go see Hellion several weeks ago in Chicago with my buddy Trent Anderson (Tuff, Bang Tango, Dmolls, Sushi Roll Band). It is not very often you get to see a line-up like this one in a club setting, & as it is said: The amount of talent on that stage was one of those rare opportunities for fans. Their set, the new record "Karma's A Bitch", and the whole evening was just simply awesome. Add in the fact that Kelly Gray from Operation Mindcrime was doing sound. And as it goes with all stars of this caliber, they could not have been a nicer group to hang with all day and night. Check out their new record, and especially tune into Simon Wright's work on "Betrayer". Special Thanks as well to Demetrius Bermudez for the introduction to Georg from Rhino Bucket...One of my all-time favorite bands, Lee Hollister for all of the great drum talk, and James Shotwell who always goes out of his way to be cool. Also...Maxxxwell Carlisle is a gifted guitar player, a great guy to talk to, and is teaching lessons now. Contact information is below. Thank You Hellion for everything....Thanks for dinner Trent....& Thank You Jerry Averill for the use of your excellent pics...

SAM LUMSDEN RECEIVES HIS BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 15~
Sam Lumsden in Scotland recently received his Beier 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15. Sam has used his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 the last three years as his mainstay go-to drum. He was introduced to my drums by Andy Parker of UFO at a show, and has used it ever since. He has used the drum on a large variety of work from jazz to loud rock gigs. It has seen small venues and large venues. The drum has also been used on recording sessions for some of Gavin Sutherland's (Sutherland Brothers) projects and most recently on the upcoming release, "Frankenshark", for the band Sharky Sharky. This is a side project of the power metal band Ascension, and they are quickly becoming a household name in children's entertainment. They utilize kid's themes to introduce them to music. Sam was also the drummer for the Uruguayan surf band Fabs, which had distribution primarily in South America and Japan. Their music was featured internationally on the Cartoon Network show "Stoked", and various MTV International Channels. He also took 1st Place in the UK section of the International Shure Drum Mastery Competition. and has toured extensively in the UK opening for such bands as Heaven's Basement. Looking forward to your feedback on the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 Sam. Thank You Again for all of your support the last three years.....

DENNIS DIKEN-THE SMITHEREENS-BEIER 1.5 STEEL SNARE--5.5 X 14~
Thanks to Brad Elvis, I had the chance to sit down with Dennis Diken, a founding member of The Smithereens at a show recently. Super nice guy, & I had a lot of fun talking to him. He used his 1.5 Steel Snare--5.5 x 14 for the entire show. Several clips from sound check will be posted in a couple of days on my site. I have always been a huge fan of The Smithereens, and the entire set was simply incredible. This band has not lost a step in their 30+ year career. When talking to him, he has been heavily influenced by Jazz drummers in his life, and his amazing solo showed it. He also performs and tours with Dave Davies, is a producer, and radio DJ. Thanks Again Brad Elvis, and Thank You Dennis. Looking forward to seeing you with Dave Davies~

BRAD ELVIS-THE ROMANTICS-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14~
Had a great time recently at a show with The Romantics with Brad Elvis (The Romantics, The Handcuffs, The Elvis Brothers, Screams) on drums. Brad has been with them for quite some time, and they all are simply great. As always, Brad put on an amazing & enthusiastic display of skill behind his kit. I was particularly thrilled to have him playing a Beier 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 which met with great reviews from the band, sound engineers & crew. Members of the audience even commented on the drum afterwards. His style is so unique, so entertaining, so original, and so complex...It would be hard to describe. I see shades of Keith Moon here and there, and some others like Ginger Baker come to mind. But Brad's style is all uniquely his...And that what makes him so great. His other long running project-The Handcuffs with Chloe F. Orwell, is a band that must be seen if you have the chance. Thank You Brad & The Romantics for a great time....

THANK YOU MONTE YOHO....
A very special Thank You going out to Monte Yoho of The Outlaws & Blackhawk. He was kind enough to send me the Hi-Hat stand he has used in the studio and live since The Outlaws Reunion Tour in 2005. This will be one of my prized possessions, and am looking forward to using it as my main. Have had a lot of great times with this band, and am looking forward to more great times. Cannot put into words how amazing they are-As individual players, and as a live act. Monte uses the 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 as his go to live snare, and the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 as his auxiliary. Link below to some excellent live clips. Monte...I told you several times...but one more time: Thank You Again for this stand and all of your support.
