FLORIDA'S BOB LUNERGAN-MARC MANNINO JAZZ QUARTET-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14.....

Sending out good vibes to Bob Lunergan in Florida this month here..

Bob is a life long artist, and has been using his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 a great deal since he picked one up from Fork's Drum Closet. This was upon recommendation from a mutual friend-Jamo Van de Bogert. He has used numerous drums over the years, and I see him with this drum often, which is always the greatest here.

He uses the drum in outdoor & indoor settings in Florida, and in several different playing situations...Including with the Marc Mannino Jazz Quintet.

Wishing you the best this year Bob. I know last year brought some unexpected health issues, and some problems this last month. But you always bounce right back, it is always great to hear from you, to see that your playing out, and really enjoy the pics of you with your family.

NASHVILLE'S JARRED POPE-LIVE WITH BUCK JOHNSON-KAATO JAPAN TOUR-LIVE DATES WITH GENE SIMMONS-BEIER.1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 15~

I was chatting with Nashville's Jarred Pope over the weekend, & to no surprise...He is as busy as ever. He is widely regarded as a knockout player from A-Z, and players like this are never idle.

The second pic below is from a recent show he did with Aerosmith's Buck Johnson with his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 15. He also has live dates coming up with Damon Johnson starting this Thursday, a Japan Tour with Kaato from April 12th-April 30th, and solo dates with Gene Simmons. Great to hear he would be using his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 15 for these dates, unless fly-dates dictate otherwise. That is his main drum these day's for a lot of his work...And he simply and absolutely loves that drum. He has also used a 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 which will be on an upcoming live album from Damon Johnson. That was recorded last year in Birmingham, Alabama. He also has used a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 live.

MIKE ZIMMERMAN-LAYING TRACKS WITH HIS BEIER 1.5 STEEL SNARE--5.5 X 14~

As noted on 12/23 in my Latest News, Mike Zimmerman has been on the road with Kenny Rogers in 2016 with his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. The drum has been his main, and I was lucky enough to get to see a show on this tour and talk some drums with him. What a great time!

We had talked about his home studio and his side projects, and he really is doing some remarkable things. So this picture below was most welcome. He just got a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 and is sitting down with it in his studio, and laying tracks on tape. The other drum he is using in this is one of my all-time favorites-The Ludwig Acrolite. 

I just simply have to hear these....Definitely something to look forward to. As well, I have my fingers crossed that the Kenny Rogers-The Gamblers Last Deal Tour will be extended and I can see Mike live again & this show. Thanks Mike.....

ACHIM FAERBER VIDEO CLIPS-LIVE WITH PROJECT PITCHFORK-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14...

These recent clips of Achim Faerber (Automat, Project Pitchfork, Eisbrecher, Prag, Peter Heppner) just seem to capture the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 live perfectly. I have had these clips for a little while (Thank You Matzo), and I find myself going back to them often. 

Achim is performing with Project Pitchfork live in these, and is one of the three drummers playing together. That, in and of itself, is incredible.....And so is Achim. As stated here many times, in articles and other media....He is without a doubt one of the most diverse and talented players on the European scene

The 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 is also his go-to for many live projects, and is one of his main drums in the studio as well. Thanks Again brother for everything.....

TRACY BROUSSARD-LIVE WITH BLAKE SHELTON AT THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14~

A very big Thanks (Again!) going out to Tracy Broussard. He appeared on the People's Choice Awards this week with Blake Shelton. The band performed "Every Time I Hear That Song" for the first time on television, and their performance got rave reviews...Across the board. 

He had along his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 with him as well. This appearance coincides with last month's appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Voice. Both of those broadcasts he used the same drum, as well on the second half of last years tour. 

The band is gearing up for this years "Doing It To Country Songs Tour", and I am really looking forward to seeing them live again.

WIL EASTERWOOD & ZACK STEWART-BEIER 1.5 STEEL SNARES--5.5 X 14 & 6.5 X 15~

It was great to hear from Wil Easterwood (Trick Pony) & Zack Stewart (Josh Thompson) here recently, and to see them with one of their main snare drums. Wil uses a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14, and Zack is using a 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 15. 

Both of them use the drums either live, and/or in the studio. Wil posted a clip with him in Berry Hill Studio which I have watched repeatedly. It is a total knockout, and captures his skill and the vibe of his drum completely. (See first link below) I was lucky enough to see Zack Stewart live twice this Summer & Fall with Josh Thompson. He is a superbly talented player, and is a very cool guy to boot. 

Will look forward to updating my News with you guys often. Have told you both Thank You on several occasions, and there is no doubt I will again and again. I really appreciate everything a great deal~

GREG MARRA'S PLENTY HEAVY-NEW SINGLE-FACE FIRST-MIKE HANSEN-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 15~

BLUE OYSTER CULT IN MILWAUKEE-JULES RADINO-BEIER 1.5 STEEL SNARE--6.5 X 14...

Jules Radino was back in town this last weekend, and it was great to see him and the band again. He had along his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 which he has used as his main for the last couple of years. He also owns and uses a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 & 4 x 15. 

I was really looking forward to this show. Their sets are always incredible, and hanging with these guys has always been a complete blast. Jules has used at different times four of my drums live, with the fourth being the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 at a festival in Illinois last Summer. He is a truly gifted & in depth player, and really is a great friend. Richie Castellano from the band recently did an excellent video on the gear BOC uses on the road, and the link is below. Great production Richie....Thanks for highlighting my drums Jules. 

Jamo Van de Bogert of Greg Allman's band was with me, and it was a lot of fun to have him there. The Tubes were on the bill as well, and really lit everyone up. Jamo also has and uses a number of my drums including the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14, 5.5 x 15 & 4 x 15. He is yet another player who has been extremely helpful to Beier Drums, and was very instrumental in Fork's picking up my entire line. And that....Has gone stunningly well.

KEITH ZEBROSKI-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 & 6.5 X 14-MIRANDA LAMBERT'S HIGHWAY VAGABOND TOUR-2017~

I absolutely love this pic from this last weekend of Keith Zebroski's 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. It is from the rehearsal space for Miranda Lambert's Highway Vagabond Tour 2017. 

Keith will have his 1.5 Steel--5.5 & 6.5 x 14 on this entire tour, and will also have a 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 14 starting in March. I am really looking forward to seeing their show at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I have seen them before on Kenny Chesney's Spread The Love Tour, and this band is a band that every single person should see. They are....Incredible.

CHICAGO VISIT-STEVE MAXWELL-MAXWELL DRUMS....BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14~

This last weekend I traveled to Chicago to visit Steve Maxwell at Maxwell Drums. I wanted to see his new shop, and also had to deliver another 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. He also stocks the 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. Steve is someone who took time out for me from Day 1, and has always just been the best to deal with. I listen to everyone and their thoughts and advice...Always have. I find myself though always paying particular attention to what his thoughts are regarding matters in this business. They just simply make perfect sense.

As with all his shops he has had in New York & Chicago, they really are a drummers dream come true. He garners wide respect from virtually every single person you will ever talk to as well. He is an excellent drummer, incredibly knowledgeable on technique, vintage & modern gear, is in the forefront of the industry on many levels, and is a complete no-nonsense straight-talker. Under his guidance, there is zero doubt that Craviotto will continue to flourish as one of the greatest drum companies ever.

RANDY WALKER-22 MEDIA PRODUCTIONS-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 13.....

Randy Walker of 22 Media Productions received his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 13 last week, and as I even told him: He is the perfect person to put this drum through the test. He has a number of my snare drums in his studio, and his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 is his go-to main.

I have only done two 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 13, the first one was three years ago. Drums in this size have never been a priority here, but recently, like I mentioned previously, I have had a lot of requests lately for 13" drums. They really have become very popular again it seems, and all of the one's in different sizes I have made have always gone over really well and are in constant use.

Randy is a long-time professional, and has engineered and played with numerous artists such as Pat Travers, Eddie Money, David Ellefson, & Tesla to name a few. Recently he had George Benson at 22 Media Productions for a video shoot for his 40th Anniversary for Ibanez Guitars. He is constantly busy with a wide variety of projects, & he is also someone who has been extremely helpful over the years to me. He has introduced and or recommended my drums to a long list of artists and engineers as well. He is a die-hard supporter of Beier Drums, and is a die-hard friend as well.

BORIS BLACKWOOD-LONG & McQUADE-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--8 X 13...#1 OF 1....

I just recently heard from Boris Blackwood of Long & McQuade in the Edmonton, Alberta, Downtown store. He ordered a one-off drum from here, a 1.5 Steel--8 x 13.

I rarely if ever do special orders. Given the way I am set-up, and as busy as I am...It is difficult to do, and can take extra time. The difficulty I do not mind...The time lag I do. My deliveries are always quick by industry standards, and I want them to stay that way.

I happened to have an 8 x 13 shell here on the shelf. I was making an 8 x 15 and wound the shell too tight. So, I decided to keep it. When Boris contacted me I was really up for doing this drum. I had actually forgotten about the shell for the most part. The drum turned out great, and Boris said he was very impressed with the snares tuning right out of the box, he took it and compared it to others in the store, and to a gig that weekend. "It is a little cannon,,,,cuts through, very dynamic. I love it. Thank You!"....

Well...Thank YOU Boris. You were awesome to deal with on this. As stated below in my news, the 8" depth snares are now 7.5. So, that is the one and only drum in that size I will ever do. And I could not be happier it is with a professional like you. Even Chad Melchert said...."Boris knows his drums!". The fact you give one of my drums a Thumbs Up....Is huge to me.

Very much looking forward to staying in touch. Sorry the drum did not arrive for your New Years Eve gig. Given the Holiday's and shipping...It just kind of turned out that way. EDDIE BAYERS JR.-MUSICO PRO MAGAZINE-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--4 X 15 & 5.5 X 14.....

Eddie Bayers Jr. was recently featured on the cover of  Musico Pro Magazine, and the article is an excellent read. He mentioned the Beier 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 & 5.5 x 14 as two of his favorite snare drums. This really meant a lot to me. It is not every day one of the most recorded drummers in history makes mention of the fact that two of your drums are among his favorites. Eddie's non-stop continuing work in sessions with those drums is a huge highlight here. The below pics are from sessions with Eddie's kit and his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 & 5.5 x 14.
