I recently heard from Adam Idell of Slow Burning Car, and as always...I so enjoy hearing from players, and staying in touch.
He pulled out his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 for a recent gig, and that is a drum he has had for some time. It is also featured on several tracks of their release: Defection. I picked up this record when it came out, love it, and keep it in rotation here.
Many Thanks Again Adam....It is always awesome touching base. I hope you, your family, and the band have a very Happy New Year!

Want to send out a huge Thank You to my pal this morning....Drummer/Producer/Engineer extraordinaire...Bobby MacIntyre of Studio 71.
We recently touched base here, and he is one of those friends I think of often, and am always wondering what he is working on. Bobby is a multi-faceted talent with a long, long list of credits. He is also one of two players to have all four of the Beier 15" Snare Series, and he is currently playing live for Nil Lara as well.
Merry Christmas to you Bobby and your family. Look forward to touching base after the Holidays my friend. Thank You for all of your support....

Huge Thank You going out today to Nashville legend Scotty Simpson (Tanya Tucker, Pam Tillis, Travis Tritt, Oak Ridge Boys)...
I recently attended the Oak Ridge Boys Shine The Light Christmas Tour, and Scotty gave me an autographed CD of his latest: The Spice Of Life. I played this record on the way home from Chicago, and three more times after that. It is a phenomenal record, and struck me as a cross-over in styles with Country & Pop being the dominant styles.
Add in the fact that Nashville superstars Eddie Bayers Jr., and David Northrup both used their Beier 1.5 Steel--4 x 15' on this, and Grammy Award winning Mark Capps engineered, recorded and mixed this album....It was certainly a full-circle musical experience for me.
I also got to meet Austin Curcuroto who is behind the kit for the Oak Ridge Boys, and landed the seat a year ago over almost several hundred candidates. After seeing him play, it is easy to see why he was chosen. Masterful drummer, and all around awesome person. Thank You Austin for taking time out, and for everything.
Merry Christmas to all of you and your families, and Thank You Again!

Canadian drumming icon, Chad Melchert, is just finishing the 2018 Honky Tonks & Dive Bar Tour with Gord Bamford in Winnipeg tonight. As he has for some time, he will have his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 as his main, and has also used his 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 15 on the road.
Thank You Chad as well for using the drums on your latest three session releases: Adam Gregory-Before It Breaks Me-(1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14), Erin Hill-Rude-(1.5 Steel--7.5 x 15), & Ryan St. Pierre-Younger-(1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14). I am, and always have been truly honored to have you use my drums on the countless releases that you have.
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas my friend. Hoping 2018 brings around a live performance in range so we can sit down and talk some drums....!

Jarred Pope recently finished the 2018 Fall/Winter tour dates with Tom Keifer, and it was great to see he had his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 as his main. I was lucky enough to see Jarred live this year a number of times, and as everyone would agree...It is one of the best Rock shows on the road, and he is one of the best drummers on the scene.
He has also used a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14, 6.5 x 14, and 6.5 x 15 on the road, and in the studio, and is also the live/studio drummer for Damon Johnson. Please do check the link below for the latest release-Memoirs Of An Uprising with his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. Great record....Thank You Jarred!
Tom Keifer will be in the studio this Fall/Winter, and am very much looking forward to a new record from this band. Happy Holidays to you & Wendy and your family my friend....See you soon....

Special Thanks today going out to Nashville legend, and easily one of the most respected drummers in music....Tommy Harden.
Tommy recently headed out for some dates on The Hits Tour 2018 with Alabama, and I was of course extremely happy to see him with one of his mains....The Beier 1.5 Steel--4 x 15. He has used that drum live, and in countless sessions and records over the years. His talent never ceases to amaze me, and he has been one of the greatest guys from A-Z to deal with.
Please click on the link below for a download of the latest from Lost Hollow...A Lost Hollow Christmas. Him and his wife Lorrie put out incredible records. I love Christmas music, and this record will be one of my annual favorites for sure.
Thanks Again Tommy...Happy Holidays to you and Lorrie and your family!
