MAT DONALDSON-WESTON HORN AND THE HUSH-NEW RECORD-VIDEO-ROCKLAHOMA-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--8 X 14...

Mat Donaldson has been great to deal with since the day he contacted me. He was interested in a 1.5 Steel--8 x 14 in Gloss White to match his Ludwig kit, and he has had the drum for over a year now. He was also looking for a drum that was going to be his main, and this drum has been since the day he got it. He was referred to me by an industry player and friend who is one of the all-time greats in drumming.

His band, Weston Horn & The Hush, are set to release their debut this coming Friday on June 23rd. The release party will be in the IDL Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They are also just coming off a recent appearance at Rocklahoma, & have an excellent new video out for one of the track's on the record: "Just Can't Stop". These guy's are a knockout.....And there is no doubt the record will be as well.

Looking forward to this record Mat. Thank You for using your 1.5 Steel--8 x 14 on it, and your non-stop use of it as your main drum.

TRACY BROUSSARD'S NEW PEARL KIT-BLAKE SHELTON TOUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14....

Nashville legend, and one of the nicest guy's on the scene, Tracy Broussard, just hit the road with Blake Shelton for their 2017 Doing It To Country Songs Tour.

He is playing a simply stunning new kit from Pearl-A Master's Maple Custom in Vermillion Sparkle. And from what I have read so far....he is pretty thrilled with it. Pearl, to me, is one of the greatest drum companies ever. They are a huge company, and continue to grow every year like most of them. But the way they do it, is what I really admire. They introduce new gear like everyone does, but it is with a defined purpose, and not just to add something "new". To have my 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 with him on the road behind his Pearl kit, is really, really incredible to me.

Thank You Tracy For Everything.....Hope to see you soon.....!

MIKE ZIMMERMAN-CMA FEST 2017 IN NISSAN STADIUM WITH KENNY ROGERS-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14...

Mike Zimmerman was at CMA Fest in Nissan Stadium with Kenny Rogers last week, and he had along his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. That drum has been his go-to main for Kenny Rogers The Gamblers Last Deal 2016-2017 Tours, & he also has a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 which he has used.

Was delighted to see that this tour was extended, and will be seeing Mike this October in Chicago. I caught up with Mike when they rolled through Wisconsin at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin on the last leg, and it really was a great time. He is an incredibly skilled player with a great story, has been a great supporter of Beier Drums, and I gotta tell you...This guy cracks me up. It is great hanging out with him and this band, and am really looking forward to seeing them this Fall.

Great to see you had your family along Mike. It really looks like you all had a lot of fun. I really, really appreciate you having your drum, and will see you soon....

DAVID NORTHRUP'S KIT-BOZ SCAGGS TOUR 2017-BEIER 1.5 STEEL-5.5 X 12.....

David Northrup is out on the road now for the Boz Scaggs 2017 Tour. I am thrilled as always that he would include one of my drums in his kit. This time it is the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 12. This is a drum he has used in clinics along with his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14, and for several shows with the Oak Ridge Boys.

This drum also, as it has been noted on numerous occasions, has been a great addition to the 1.5 Steel Series, and was done because of his advice after one of our discussions at a show. I would not be doing this drum if it wasn't for him. As one of the legends of the drum world his insights are incredible, and he is someone I truly value as a friend, and counsel.

Thank You David....Congrats Again on the new gig. Hope to see you soon!

CHAD MELCHERT-NEW PROMO PICS-GRETSCH MARQUEE KIT & GRETSCH ARTIST OF THE MONTH...

A very big Congratulations going out to Chad Melchert (Gord Bamford) who was chosen Gretsch Artist Of The Month for June, and on his new acquisition of a Gretsch Marquee kit. To add to that, he is also been nominated for the CCMA Drummer Of The Year for 2017 which he won in 2016.

He also recently had a series of promo shots done with all of the products he uses and endorses. I really appreciated him including his Beier Drums which he uses as his mains: 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 & 6.5 x 14. Those two drums he uses by choice, and it is always, like with all players....A source of huge pride here.

Chad will be starting with another drum from Beier Drums the beginning of July, and I think it is going to be a big-big hit with him. Thank You Chad....You & Theo Brown are my Canadian brothers....

NEW CLIP FROM SAM LUMSDEN IN SCOTLAND-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14-UPDATED-6/19....

Scotland's finest drummer and instructor, Sam Lumsden of First Class Drums in Inverness, recently posted another clip of him playing. This is one of a long line of them he has done with his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. Once again, and as always....He illustrates his diversity, expertise, and academic approach to playing drums in which he could easily explain his technique, and does with his students.

Always awesome Sam.....Thank You for your comment, and for your non-stop use of the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. Let's talk soon....Be great to catch up.....

UPDATE: New clip below from Sam below covering Paramore Hard Times with his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14!

"My snare is the Beier Drums 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 available at www.beierdrums.com. It is seriously the best snare I have ever played..."

JULES RADINO-BLUE OYSTER CULT 45TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14.....

Jules Radino is in Europe right now with Blue Oyster Cult on their 45th Anniversary Tour. Along with him is the 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 which has been one of his mains for quite some time now. He also has a 1.5 Steel--4 x 15, & 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15, and has used a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 live.

Jules has been, quite frankly, a blast to deal with from the beginning. Him and this band and the crew are so much fun, and they are so incredible live....It is a guaranteed great time. I will be seeing them in September and simply would not miss it. I am always indebted to Monte Yoho of The Outlaws, another huge & long-time supporter of Beier Drums, and great friend, for the introduction.

Have a great tour Jules.....Thank You.....

MIKE DAWSON'S KIT AT NEW JERSEY'S MUSIC FACTORY-FINAL TRACK FOR SHANE GAMBLE'S NEW RECORD-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 15....

Mike Dawson was at the Music Factory in New Jersey recently finishing up the final track for Shane Gamble's new record. This is a record I have been counting the day's until it's release. I love this band, and have since the minute I heard them. They are so in-sync, have something thoughtful to say in their music, and just simply have it all the way around.

Mike is using his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 & 6.5 x 15 on this record. On Shane's last release he used the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 as well. He also had his RBH kit from Bruce Hagwood along for the record which he really, really likes. I don't know Bruce, and have no experience with his drums. What I do know though he get's stellar reviews, and he is someone who is truly making his drums which I always admire. It is no easy task to do that, and to steam-bend wood and make drums in the way he is....Is an awesome feat.

Thank You Mike!.....I am on that record the minute it is released.....

BRAD ELVIS-THE HANDCUFFS/THE ROMANTICS-SNARE DRUM COLLECTION & HIS FOUR BEIER SNARE DRUMS......

Brad Elvis (The Handcuffs, The Romantics, Screams) recently commented on a pic he had posted some time ago. The image has received a ton of comments, and to see four of my drums in the lower right hand corner of it, is truly a sight for me.

From top-bottom they are the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14, an early 2mm Brass 5 x 14, 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14-Gloss White, and a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15.

Brad has used all of them live with The Handcuffs and The Romantics. If you have never seen him play live...You are missing something great. Plus, he is one of the coolest guy's going, has had an amazing career, and is one of the biggest drum fanatics you will ever meet.

See you soon Brad....Ten Thumbs Up!

SCOTT THOMPSON LIVE WITH PURE PRAIRIE LEAGUE-LEESBURG BIKEFEST & TREE TOWN MUSIC FEST-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14 & 5.5 X 14...

Scott Thompson continues his trek with Pure Prairie League, and it was great to see he had his new 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 he recently picked up with him at the Tree Town Festival with Bret Michaels. The 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 he has been using as his go-to since the day he got it, and the second shot is from the Leesburg Bike Fest.

He also has his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 on the road with him, and that is the newest drum in his line-up. He is one of a number of players to have more than one of my drums out with them. Whether it is one or three drums....That is something I cherish here. The drummers that have my drums keep them constantly in use whether live, in the studio, in their practice routine, or all three of those.

Hope to see you soon Scott.....Thank You~

KENDALL KRAMER ON BEIER DRUMS......

Want to give a big shout out to Kendall Kramer here this morning....

Kendall is a widely known and skilled tech in the industry, and he was gracious enough to send me a comment for my site. I met Kendall several times at Miranda Lambert shows when he was getting the kit ready for one of Nashville's all-time greats: Keith Zebroski.

Since Day 1 of this, I have always sought out tech's, and am ever interested in their thoughts on my drums. Kendall has worked with the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14, 6.5 x 14 & 7.5 x 14. Tech's are treasure troves of information and idea's, and I listen to them very carefully. They also are very busy at these events, but always and unfailingly take time out.

Thanks Again Kendall.....Hope to see you sometime soon.....

ACHIM FAERBER-NEW PROJECT PITCHFORK VIDEO-DOOB DEMOS-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14....

Achim Faerber (Eisbrecher, Project Pitchfork, Prag, Automat, Peter Heppner) recently was in an excellent live video of Project Pitchfork with his main: The 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. This is one of many seats he holds, and he has been with Project Pitchfork for quite some time as one of three live simultaneous drummers. It really is a remarkable sight to see & to hear, and this entire band is as well.

Also there is a link to Sound Cloud on some great improv work he did with Georg Zeitblom of Automat and Alex Istschenko with his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14.

Will have an update very soon on Achim with a new drum from Beier Drums....It is #1 in a new size, and he is the perfect player to give it a spin in the studio and live. Thank You Achim!
