I lost count quite some time ago on how many times I have said Thank You to Canadian legend, and long time pal, Chad Melchert. Since stepping down from touring full-time with Gord Bamford, he is busier than ever with in his Abbigail Road Drum Studio, performing at select live dates, and doing clinics. He is the epitome of a professional, is a 5 time CCMA Drummer Of The Year winner, is the first drummer to ever be inducted into the CCMA Hall Of Honor. and is one of the most sought after session and live drummers in Canada.
He has recently been out doing live dates, and did a clinic for Long & McQuade. Just wanted to send out a massive Thank You to him for having one of his Beier 1.5 Steel Series snare drum along. In this case it was his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 which has been a long time favorite of his. I am getting ready to follow up with him on the sessions that I have noted for all of the new releases he has used the drums on as well. I have done this for years with him, and recorded material is, and always has been, paramount in importance to me.
Cheers to my pal Chad Melchert...It is always so incredible to see your friends fly high, and he is doing just that. But with being the Musician & person that he is...It is the inevitable, and completely unavoidable. Smile.
