KEITH ZEBROSKI-LIVE WITH MIRANDA LAMBERT-HIGHWAY VAGABOND TOUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14 & 7.5 X 14....

I have to say this last month has been really something here, and one of the highlights was getting to see Keith Zebroski live on Miranda Lambert's Highway Vagabond Tour. I was at the show at the Resche Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the show in Rockford, Illinois at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Both shows were, as you might expect....Spectacular.

This is easily one of the best bands on the road, and to have the opportunity to sit there and watch a player like Keith use my gear is, to a Drumsmith, as good as it gets.  He also set me up with Pit Passes that I used, and that is something I really have never done . I have always sat either on the side of the stage, or in the seats. It really was a remarkable experience to be able to get the full sound coming off the stage, and a bird's-eye view of the drummer for the night and their technique.

Keith is an incredible drummer with a power-style + finesse approach to his kit, and the music. He also is one the most knowledgeable players on gear, the industry, & is one of the nicest & most affable players I have met. Needless to say....I am looking forward to seeing this band the next time around....Already.

Thank You Keith for everything....

UPDATE-ZACK STEWART CLINIC TODAY AT THE WEST KENTUCKY PERCUSSION FESTIVAL......

Zack Stewart has a busy day today...

He is a guest clinician at the West Kentucky Percussion Festival in Greenville, Kentucky this afternoon, then will be flying to Wisconsin for an evening show with Josh Thompson in Milwaukee. Quite a day....But not surprising for a player like him to be in demand with skills as superb as his.

Zack uses a 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 15 for one if his mains, and I saw him live with Josh Thompson twice this last year. It truly is rattling to me to miss a show, and am really disappointed to miss the one tonight in Milwaukee due to early morning travel obligations. They are....Incredible live.

Congratulations on your clinic Zack. Thank You for all of your support, and am really looking forward to seeing you soon....

UPDATE 3/26: I touched base with Zack yesterday after the clinic, and he told me the first question he got during the Q & A was: "What snare is that?, it sounds amazing". Again....Thank You Zack for using it....!

CHAD MELCHERT IN REHEARSALS FOR 2017 GORD BAMFORD TOUR-GRETSCH BROADKASTER KIT & HIS BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14~

Chad Melchert, CCMA Drummer Of The Year 2017, was in rehearsals this week for the Gord Bamford 2017 Tour. He will be using his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 for the tour, and his new Grestch Broadkaster kit which he is thrilled with.

I am truly hoping that this is the year somehow this band will wind up close enough so I can see them live. I am always in touch with Chad, and it would just be the greatest time. But like all great bands....They are in demand, and no doubt will find there way around here soon. That is something to look forward to.

Please check the link below for all live dates for Gord Bamford, & Thank You for all of your support Chad..

UFO-TOMORROW NIGHT IN CHICAGO-ARCADA THEATRE-ANDY PARKER LIVE-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--8 X 14....

UFO will be in Chicago tonight and tomorrow night for two sold-out shows at The Arcada Theatre. Andy Parker will be using his 1.5 Steel--8 x 14 for the first time tonight. His primary main in the US is the 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14, and has been for many years. It will really be interesting to see how the 1.5 Steel--8 x 14 goes in comparison.

I saw them in Milwaukee this week, and to no surprise to anyone....They simply lit it up. They always do, and always have. I will be updating the Latest News after the show tomorrow on both of these shows....

EDDIE BAYERS IN THE STUDIO IN NASHVILLE-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14....

One of the world's most recorded drummers, Nashville legend, and easily one of the greatest drummers to ever sit behind the kit in the studio....Eddie Bayers is as active as ever. This latest pic from this month is from a session in Nashville, and as always....I find myself extremely anxious to hear these new records as they are released.

He also was in the new movie "Wheeler", and used this drum on the soundtrack on three tracks. Please see the Latest News on 3/4 for this with the links. It is a phenomenal and very moving story, and the soundtrack just soars. I am hitting the road again tomorrow for Chicago, and this was the first CD I picked for my travels. It is just one of those records that you want to listen to over and over.

Thank You Eddie Bayers for everything......

BOB LUNERGAN IN FLORIDA & HIS BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14......

After decades of live performance, it is great to see Bob Lunergan continue his non-stop work behind the kit. While primarily a Jazz player, Bob is also versed in all styles.

His primary is his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14, and has been since Day 1 of receiving it. It has always been great to stay in touch, and to hear how much he enjoys this drum. Jamo Van de Bogert (Greg Allman) introduced him to Beier Drums, and uses them as his mains as well.

Thanks Bob! Appreciate the message the other morning. Please do keep me posted. And BTW....I Love PBS as well!!

MEGHAN HERRING-DOLL SKIN-WARPED TOUR-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 15......

Congrats going out to the girls in Doll Skin for landing a spot on the Warped Tour this Summer. These girls are great live, and there is no doubt they will be a big-big hit on this tour.

I recently chatted with Meg, and she will have her 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 along for this tour. She also uses it extensively for live dates with Doll Skin, and it was also featured on their debut record "In Your Face",

The record was recorded at the famed Platinum Underground Studio with David Ellefson, Randy Walker & John Acquilino with a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15. The studio is owned by John, and the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 is his #1 go-to drum in the studio. He also just picked up a 1.5 Steel--7.5 x 15 that has in constant use as well. His introduction to my drums was from Randy Walker who has been a huge voice for Beier Drums. He has introduced numerous players to the drums, and has three of the 1.5 Steel Series in his studio: Media 22 Productions.

Thank You Meg....I really appreciate you taking that drum out, and the fact you love playing it so much. Hope to see the band live very soon......!

WILLIAM DILLA & HIS BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 12....

After a visit with David Northrup in 2017 at an Oak Ridge Boys show, and upon his suggestion, I decided to put out a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 12. The drum has done extremely well on the road, in clinics, and through Fork's Drum Closet.

One of the customers was William Dilla, and from his comment below, and former comments...he is really enjoying this drum. Every single person that has one simply seems to love this drum, and it is great to have this drum being used as much as it is.

Thank You William Dilla & David Northrup.....

"I've been playing this snare drum a lot lately...I just love the sound"

UPDATE-SAM LUMSDEN-SCOTLAND-NEW VIDEO'S.....BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14....

Sam Lumsden in Scotland is one of these great friends....That I have never met(!) Almost from the beginning he was interested in Beier Drums, and currently has a 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 & 5.5 x 15.

The 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 has been his main for years now, and unfailingly when he is working live, doing video clips, or teaching in his drum school....That drum is in the forefront of his work. He recently posted several more clips ( links below), and is in the running for a huge project.

Thanks for these as always Sam....And the update. Look forward to hearing from you soon!

Update: 3/25: New video added of Sam covering a song from The Dandy Warhols for the audition...Thrid link below.

KEVIN KOREMAN-NEW VIDEO IN INSTAGRAM SERIES-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14....

Chicago based drummer, Kevin Koreman (Independent/The Wild Family/Instrumental Performance-Columbia College) continues with his excellent set of videos on Instagram. He posts every week, and it is great to see him so active, and truly delving into different aspects of drumming.

He features his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 which he has for some time, and was one of the early players to have one. That was my intention here: To see players continue to use one or more of my drums long after they have had them.

Thanks Again Kevin.....Appreciate this very much.....

THE BOTTLE ROCKETS LIVE THIS THURSDAY-MADISON WISCONSIN-HIGH NOON SALOON-MARK ORTMANN & HIS BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14...

Just talked to Mark Ortmann today from The Bottle Rockets, and it is always a great conversation. The Bottle Rockets will be bringing their latest tour with Chuck Prophet through Wisconsin this Thursday with a show at the High Noon Saloon in Madison, Wisconsin.

As a long time fan of Roots Rock/Americana....This band is one of my favorites, and has been for a long time. Mark has been using a 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 on the road as his main for the last two years, and also included it on their last release: South Broadway Athletic Club. This venue as well is my favorite in Madison. I played there also, and it is a great wide open room, and has a true "Saloon Vibe". These guys will knock it out for sure.

Will update this as always with pics from the show. Information on the event can be found from the link below....

ACHIM FAERBER-RADIOPLAY BROADCAST-DIE KORPERFRESSER-"THE BODY SNATCHERS"-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14....

I recently listened to a Radioplay from Germany of "Die Korperfresser." This was a radio remake of Jack Finney's 1954 classic: "The Body Snatchers". The music was composed by Georg Zeitblom with Achim Faerber on drums. The drum he used is his main snare for virtually almost all of his work: The Beier 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14. Georg & Achim are also two of the three members of one of Germany's most heralded electronic music projects: Automat.

I really enjoy Radioplay's, and I wish there were more in North America. They seem to be a thing of the past....At least for now. From a production & musical standpoint, they can be very intense, dark, and/or dramatic. If you love music & a particular instrument....These are great to tune into.

Achim can be found on the music scene in Germany, & almost anywhere in the world actually! He is the drummer for Eisbrecher, one of the three simultaneous drummers for Project Pitchfork, is the touring and recording drummer for Prag, Peter Heppner, Automat, Danny Dziuk, and others. He is widely regarded as one of the premier talents in Europe, and is also a great friend. He also will be starting with #1 of a new drum I am just finishing here. That will be in the Latest News here very soon.

Thank You Achim!

DAVID NORTHRUP-OAK RIDGE BOYS-PARAMOUNT CENTER-ST. CLOUD, MINNESOTA-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14...

Drumming legend, and one of Nashville's all-time greats-David Northrup, is on the road again with the Oak Ridge Boys on a tour that is non-stop. They continue to entertain audiences everywhere, and are in huge demand as a live act. And if you have seen them recently, you will understand why.

One of his main drums for live shows with them is his 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 with Angel Hoops. He has been using that drum for quite some time with them, and in numerous sessions. He also used his 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 on the Oak Ridge Boys Celebrate Christmas record that was released late 2016, and has a 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 15 on the tour with him as well.

These pics are from last week at the Paramount Center For The Arts in St. Cloud, Minnesota on the tour. I will be seeing them later this Summer, and David will be using another size of the 1.5 Steel Series which I think is going to go over very well.

Thanks David. Sorry to miss your call the other day! Great to touch base by email though....Glad everything is going great......

THEODORE BROWN-LIVE DATE-TCU PERFORMANCE ART THEATRE-SASKATOON, CANADA-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--8 X 15...

Theodore Brown was out live last week at the TCU Performance Art Theatre in Saskatoon with his Beier 15 Steel--8 x 15. He is a long time professional with years of touring experience and studio work, and is a die-hard enthusiast for anything with drums. It is always interesting to see what he is up to configuration-wise, and I am always delighted to see him with one of his main drums....His Beier 1.5 Steel--8 x 15.

As he said in his post with these images......"Only the beginning...." That type of thinking in drummers is the mark of all great drummers....All of them. It doesn't matter whether your playing in the corner of a small Cafe or in a Stadium....This train of thought is what creates true music~

Thank You Theodore Brown....

GORD BAMFORD'S CHAD MELCHERT-NEW GRETSCH BROADKASTER KIT-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--6.5 X 14....

Gretsch Drums have some of the most loyal and enthusiastic players in the industry today it seems. Chad Melchert is no exception. He just received his new Broadkaster kit, is a part of Gretsch's International Roster, and he could not be happier. It must be said though....They are extremely fortunate to have him as an Artist as well.

Chad uses two snare drums as his main in the studio & live: The 1.5 Steel--4 x 15 & 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14. Both drums are in constant non-stop use, and there are a number of upcoming releases which I am really looking forward to.

Please check live dates for Gord Bamford to see Chad live, or follow his Facebook page. (Links below...)

GREG MARRA ICONOCLAST PODCAST WITH MIKE HANSEN-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 15....

Guitar virtuoso, Greg Marra, just completed Episode 13 of his new Iconoclast Podcast. This one was with Mike Hansen, and was excellent from start to finish.

Mike has had an incredibly extensive career, and currently plays drums as well with Greg in Plenty Heavy. He has used the 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 extensively live as his go-to, and in the studio as well-including the last two releases from Plenty Heavy. Mike is also the current drummer for Hurricane, Bouillet, and has also played with George Lynch, Steve Vai & Paula Abdul to name a few.

EDDIE BAYERS-NEW MOVIE AND SOUNDTRACK-WHEELER-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14....

One of the all-time greats in the music industry, Eddie Bayers, is in the new movie Wheeler. He also used his 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 14 for the songs he did for the soundtrack. Link below for the video of  "Pour Me Out Of This Town". I love this tune, and the way Eddie used the drum on it. It is just simply perfect....

I just ordered my copies of the DVD & CD and will update this when I get them. THANK YOU Again For Everything Eddie.
