MONTE YOHO OF THE OUTLAWS & PAT McDONALD OF THE CHARLIE DANIELS BAND-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 & 6.5 X 14~

Wanted to post a great pic from last week at Freedom Hill Ampitheatre, Sterling Heights, Michigan. The Outlaws were doing a show with the Charlies Daniels Band. Monte from The Outlaws/Blackhawk, and Pat from Charlie Daniels have been using my snare drums exclusively on tour for years now. Monte uses the 1.5 Steel--6.5 x 14 as his main, and a 5.5 x 14 as an auxiliary. Pat uses both his 1.5 Steel--5.5 & 6.5 x 14 live, and also has a new 4 x 15 which he just started using live as well. Check my Video page for clips and Audio page for samples as well. I have said it to both of you many times...But one more time: Thank You for your support, it means a lot to me...

THE BOTTLE ROCKETS LIVE-MARK ORTMANN-BEIER 1.5 STEEL SNARE--6.5 X 14~

Had a great time with the Bottle Rockets this last Sunday in Madison, Wisconsin. They were headlining the Marquette Waterfront Festival which is an outstanding summer long string of festivals on Lake Mendota. The band, as always, was in prime form, and put on a great show like have since the beginning. Mark was using his Beier 1.5 Steel Snare--6.5 x 14 for the show, uses it on tour, and also included it on the new record coming out this October. I have some great webcam clips from the show of him playing, and will be posting them within a week.

Thanks Again Mark, and to the entire band. You guys are some of the nicest players out on the road, and you sound nothing short of spectacular.

RANDY WALKER-IN THE STUDIO WITH DOLL SKIN & THE BEIER 1.5 STEEL SNARE--5.5 X 15~

Randy Walker (22 Media Productions), John Aquilino (Icon), and Dave Ellefson (Megadeth) have been in the studio with Doll Skin-One of Arizona's most aspiring bands. They are recording tracks for an upcoming release, and this band of all girls simply rocks. Drummer, Meghan Herring, has been using the Beier 1.5 Steel--5.5 x 15 in the studio. They are a combination of punk/progressive & pop, and I am really looking forward to hearing these tracks.

This is a great time to say Thanks Again to my friend Randy Walker. He has been a constant supporter of Beier Drums, and has used them extensively. Also, a huge Thank You as well to John Aquilino for picking a 5.5 x 15 up from Jerry at Music City Asheville for his studio after using Randy's at 22 Media Productions. The 15" drums have been in production here for quite some time, and the 5.5 x 15 is one of my favorites.

Great hearing from you Meghan. Very happy to hear you liked playing the drum, and All The Best to you & the girls in Doll Skin~

DANNY THOMPSON-ALAN PARSONS LIVE PROJECT-BEIER 1.5 STEEL--5.5 X 14~

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Danny Thompson of the Alan Parsons Live Project here in Milwaukee at The Pabst Theater. He was using his Beier 1.5 Steel Snare--5.5 x 14 for the night, and I have to say...him and that band, to use an overall term, just floored me.

Of course like all professionals, he is a super nice guy, and so are the members of this band. The band is one of those ultra-refined super tight acts that is just simply overflowing with talent. I cannot remember the last time I saw five-part harmonies, much less flawless one's. Alan Parsons is as strong of a performer as he ever was. I sat on the side of the stage and watched Danny through sound check and the live show. I have been around on the road quite a bit, and have been lucky enough to work with a lot of drummers in the circuit. He has a thunderous style with a fine touch, simply does not miss, and without a doubt is one of the greats.

I have some excellent clips from the live show of him playing, and will update this story when they are done. Thanks Again Danny. Looking forward to seeing this incredible band sometime very soon...
